Welcome to Rabid Wolf's make-shift webpage!
This page is meant to inform on the progress of my latest UT deathmatch map "DM-DCM".
In due time there will be work-in-progress screenshots, as well as download links to the first beta version, and any further files that may (or may not) be needed for it.
GENERAL:
DM-DCM (meaning Dark Chrome Mother) is a map suggested for 4-10 players (12 playerstarts).
It features what I'd like to call a "futuristic gothic" theme. I could imagine that a lot of peeps might find it hard to imagine what such a thing would look like, but it's hard to explain: I guess you'll have to wait and see...
While it doesn't require a Cray to run it, my old Celeron 500 will probably start hiccuping at a spot or two, but I'll be very cautious with the dynamic lights, so not to make it any worse.
There will be "hidden" connections, and an upper-average amount of z-axis action.
It will have appropriate bot support, in fact, they'll jump down the z-axis, will use their Impact Hammer, will snipe, will translocate, will ambush.
MUSIC:
The map will come with a custom .umx track. I forgot where I downloaded it from, and the file info contains no e-mail address. So it will be used without explicit permission. (Me a baaad guy, I know... =( )
All I know about it is that it originally is called Floating Traveller and was done by one "Jussi". If you want to take a listen to it, the zipped .it (playable in Winamp) can be downloaded here. (82KB)
SOUNDS:
It also will come with a custom .uax file. Most of the sounds in there were taken from the game Judge Dreadd Pinball (believe it or not, there was such a thing ;p ). These sounds, as well as a few others I forgot the source of, are also used without any permission.
TEXTURES:
The biggest file in the final .zip archive will undoutably be the .utx pack. It contains various textures which I got from all over the place, some through Google's image search. (Cool tool for the pr0n lovers that... =D ).
However, I'm still in the process of cutting down the number of textures I'll import, and circumcise the selection to only the few most important ones that I just can't (won't) do without.
So at the time I write this, I have no idea just how big or small the eventual dm-dcm.utx is gonna get.
WEAPONS:
The map has a "hardcore" gameplay in mind, and thus I took great care what weapons it will feature, and which it won't. The weapons decision is final.
ITEMS:
These are the items that will be used. Here too it is a final decision:
